Met our newest club member at the field this evening. Name is Neelesh (sorry, I didn't get his last name). He drove in just as I was arriving after Sunday dinner. Says it's his favorite time to fly.
He was there with his new ParkZone F-27Q Stryker and manages to get his hand launched (something I've not been able to achieve yet). He flies Mode 1 and launches with 40% throttle. Horizon discourages a power-on launch for safety reasons because the prop is behind your hand. Neelesh says the secret is a bit of up elevator trim to keep the nose up while launching. Easy to do on Mode 1, not so easy on Mode 2. Also, if you reprogram the EFlite ESC you can take the delay out of the throttle. I'll have to take a look at that.
Watched him fly 2 flights and can't wait to get my Stryker in the air now. This thing is fast yet slows down quite well. Fast is something Neelesh knows because he also flies jets (has a private field to do that.)
Neelesh plans to be up at the field most evenings (he lives in Blaine) so if you see him, please introduce yourself. He's already met myself, Kim and Stan. He has 2 boys, ages 8 and 3.
